Lavender – has a harmonising effect on the nervous system, helps us to reduce anxiety and our response to stress. It also acts as a sedative in conditions of mental and emotional agitation and unrest, calming the mind.   The scent of lavender also promotes emotional stability and helps to ease irritability, anger, moodiness, mood swings and depression. 

Geranium – together with lavender, geranium is one of the most popular essential oils in aromatherapy. Lavender and geranium work in synergy to create a calming effect that reduces anxiety and our response to stress. Geranium helps to restore emotional harmony and can be useful to reduce moodiness and mood swings.   

Frankincense – well known for alleviating nervous tension and nervous exhaustion. It is recommended for quietening the mind and assisting in meditation. It deepens the breath and calms and focuses our mind. 

Ylang ylang – traditionally used in aromatherapy to promote emotional stability, reduce irritability, moodiness, frustration and anger. Clinical studies have found that the scent of ylang ylang had a calming effect and reduced ANS arousal. 

Patchouli – The rich earthy herbaceous scent of patchouli is beneficial for alleviating anxiety, restlessness, irritability and stress-related conditions. It is said to calm the mind, when it is stimulated with overthinking and worry. 

Atlas cedarwood – traditionally used in aromatherapy for reducing stress, anxiety and nervous tension. It helps calm the mind and promotes emotional security. It reduces repetitive and excessive thinking, worry and obsessive thoughts.

Bergamot - when blended with lavender, it is well known in aromatherapy to promote emotional stability, reduce anxiety, irritability, moodiness and pessimism. Has a high linalool content which works well in synergy with lavender, petitgrain and clary sage to promote a relaxing night sleep.
